Digital Developer/Technical Support
Our lead in-house web developer Chris has spent most of his working life in campaigning organisations and the voluntary sector. He taught himself how to use computers using an original IBM PC, writing his first piece of HTML in 1995.
Chris went on to set up his own IT support business, specialising in work for the voluntary sector, before joining graphics.coop in 2010.
Chris lives in the free republic of Portobello with his wife Jane and 16-year-old son Callum, who is installing Linux on the old laptop. His favourite font is Gill Sans, his favourite tree is Araucaria araucana, the monkey puzzle, and he loves singing, yoga and wild swimming. He’s also a member of his local Quaker meeting — a chance to sit and be quiet once in a while.
I love working in a values-based organisation where we share responsibility for our work and our decisions. I spend my working days wading through SQL, PHP, CSS and Javascript, but I can communicate technical concepts with the minimum of jargon (unless jargon is what you want!).
